Sightseeing and gastronomic cruise in the heart of Lyon

Bateaux Lyonnais invites you to embark on enchanting moments through sightseeing tours and lunch or dinner cruises along the Rhône and Saône.

From a one-hour sightseeing tour to a peaceful five-hour gastronomic odyssey, immerse yourself in a different perspective of the city as you admire its majestic cityscape from the water, all guided by informative commentary.

A boat cruise in the center of Lyon, with entertaining commentary on board, is a unique way to discover the city.

It is a relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of the road, offering stunning views along the beautiful waterways.

Sightseeing Tours

Since 1984, Les Bateaux Lyonnais has been transporting passengers along the two rivers that run through the heart of Lyon. Offering six different boats, the smallest can accommodate up to 40 people, the “St Jean”, ideal for a short one-hour excursion with cocktails.

There are several options available to you, such as the “discovery tour” which goes north along the Saône to Île Barbe, a haven of greenery on the outskirts of the city. Or the “unusual tour” which highlights Lyon’s impressive architecture, including views of the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière while crossing Vieux Lyon.

You can also sail south along the Saône to the Musée de la Confluence, your ticket including priority access to the museum.

Gastronomic Cruises

Bateaux Lyonnais’ flagship, the “Hermès,” is the largest boat in the fleet. This magnificent floating restaurant is available for gourmet lunch and dinner cruises. Choose between a two-and-a-half-hour lunch or dinner excursion, or a five-hour lunch cruise.

The “Hermès” offers an “authentic menu” or a “gourmet menu”, both offering a choice between two main courses. Options also include a vegetarian menu, a children’s menu and a special birthday menu.

Location and Access

The one-hour tours start from the pier located opposite 2 Quai des Célestins, Lyon 69002, on the left bank of the Saône, at the foot of the Passerelle du Palais de Justice.

Just a few steps from Place Bellecour, lunch and dinner cruises depart from the left bank of the Rhône River, at the foot of the Pont de l'Université, opposite 16 quai Claude Bernard, Lyon 69007.
